Eight Chains,
Infinite Chaos
The Philosophy
How do we teach AI? Not by following tutorials, but by breaking the tools. crAIzy chAIns is an exercise in arts-based research, where the focus is on the friction between nodes, not the efficiency of the output.
Read the Teaching ConceptIn the Winter Semester 2025/26, six student teams at UdK Berlin were tasked with building "agentic Rube Goldberg machines." The result: 8 workflows that automate creativity, critique, and pure absurdity.
Trigger Warning!
Here come eight of them. Click the red buttons to trigger the chains directly in our n8n lab, or explore the blueprints in detail.
A-MAN V4.2
Team: Student Project
A daily Bible verse decides the program flow via even/odd logic. The Duden "Word of the Day" inspires the "KIrchitekt" to generate dystopian megachurch images, while Tagesschau news become a "God, Guns & Glory" screenplay.
FitnessJesus V3
Team: Student Project
Three parallel pipelines: church images are analyzed, song lyrics checked for mood, and video scripts extracted. From all of it, "AlphaJesus" – an evangelical gym influencer – distills a podcast with TTS audio.
Histopiet
Team: Student Project
Gemini Vision analyzes food images for meat. No meat? A historical woman is selected, generated as an image, and paired with Histopiet for carpool karaoke. The result: a Rolling Stone article and a singing snippet via Image2Video.
SOULREADERPLAY
Team: Student Project
Extracts exactly 5 German nouns from your text, finds matching images on Pexels, and analyzes their brightness and mood. An emotional matrix becomes the directing instructions for a poetic text – optionally as a video with TTS synthesis.
Playmobil Paul
Team: Student Project
RSS feeds deliver current news, a satire aptitude check filters for biting gag potential. PlaymobilPaul – a 7.5cm plastic figurine with a John Oliver attitude – turns the result into an audio podcast via Chatterbox TTS.
Japanese Cooking Game
Team: Student Project
Photograph your fridge – image recognition identifies the ingredients and generates a Japanese recipe with a dish image. Then a cooking video script is created and a short teaser produced via ComfyUI.
The Digital Brain Core
Team: Student Project
12 No-Op nodes, named after brain regions – from Central Thalamus through Frontal Logic to the Cerebellum. A perfectly wired workflow that does exactly nothing. Digital Zen. The result? Hit trigger and find out.
Weihnachtsjukebox
Team: Student Project
Start singing a Christmas carol – the AI recognizes it, completes the verse, and keeps composing. Features: text input, voice input, song recognition, and TTS singing.
